The Oakwood Comets basketball team (Fithian, IL), was nudged 46-44 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL)
The Storm now possess a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Watseka for a Vermilion Valley battle on Wednesday, February 9. Salt Fork will battle a Warriors team coming off a 55-39 league win over Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 14-11.
The Comets (21-7) will now prepare for their battle against Schlarman (Danville, IL). The Hilltoppers come into the Vermilion Valley battle with a 3-18 record. In their last battle, Schlarman was nudged by Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL), 77-42, in a league battle.
