Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA), 61-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Nelson County upgrades its record to 4-12 on the season. The Governors host Dan River (Ringgold, VA) to play the Wildcats in a Dogwood bout on Wednesday, February 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Dan River won 36-34 in their recent league bout against Campbell (Naruna, VA)

Next up, the Hawks play the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) in a Dogwood bout, on Thursday, February 10. Gretna will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 11-2 record after their 56-30 league win over Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).
