The Newcomb Skyhawks tipped the host Wingate Bears basketball team by a final score of 67-64 in Wednesday's league game.
In their next game, the Skyhawks face the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a 3A District 1 game, on Friday, February 10. Newcomb will attempt to move on its 7-10 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 15-8 record after their 67-40 league win over Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).
With the defeat, Wingate moves to 5-16 on the year. The Bears host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to face the Eagles in a 3A District 1 game on Friday, February 10. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 20-3. Navajo Prep won 59-41 in their recent league game against Zuni (Zuni, NM)
