Penn Yan Academy Mustangs (Penn Yan, NY) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wayne Eagles (Ontario Center, NY), 36-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Penn Yan Academy upgrades its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Newark (Newark, NY) to play the Reds in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East bout on Friday, February 10. The Reds come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Newark lost 65-54 in their recent league bout against Midlakes (Clifton Springs, NY)

Next up, the Eagles play the Waterloo Indians (Waterloo, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East bout, on Friday, February 10. Wayne will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 66-44 league win over Mynderse Academy (Seneca Falls, NY).
