In Wednesday's league outing, the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), by a count of 67-40.

The Cougars (15-8) will now prepare for their outing against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM). The Skyhawks go into the 3A District 1 outing with a 7-10 record. In their last outing, Newcomb smashed Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM), 67-64, in a league outing.

The Hawks now hold a 14-9 record. They play next when they travel to Zuni for a 3A District 1 outing on Saturday, February 11. Thoreau will clash with a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 35-32 league win over Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 12-8.
