Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Gridley Bulldogs (Gridley, CA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals face the Orland Trojans (Orland, CA) in a Butte View test, on Thursday, February 9. Corning will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Trojans come into the test with a 14-3 record after their 1-1 league Las Plumas (Oroville, CA).

With the loss, Gridley drops to 10-5 on the season.
