In Thursday's non-league match, the host Cherokee Braves basketball team scored a tight 82-78 triumph over the Hiwassee Dam Eagles.
In their next game, the Braves meet the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) in a 1A Big Smoky match, on Friday, February 9. Cherokee will attempt to move on its 13-7 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 13-8 record after their 80-60 league win over Highlands (Highlands, NC).
