Pompton Lakes Cardinals (Pompton Lakes, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Hawthorne Bears (Hawthorne, NJ), 46-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pompton Lakes upgrades its record to 14-7 on the season. The Cardinals host Parsippany (Parsippany, NJ) to play the Redhawks in a non-league bout on Friday, February 9. The Redhawks go into the bout with a record of 10-10. Parsippany won 73-67 in their recent league bout against Morristown-Beard (Morristown, NJ)

Next up, the Bears play the Lodi Rams (Lodi, NJ) in a Bergen/Passaic - King bout, on Saturday, February 10. Hawthorne will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 15-6 record after their 49-31 non-league win over Bergen Charter (Hackensack, NJ).
