The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots (Hills, MN) basketball nipped the host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers (Westbrook, MN), 57-50 in Thursday's league test.

The Patriots (13-6) will now prepare for their test against DeSmet (DeSmet, SD). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 15-3 record. In their last test, DeSmet got by Wolsey-Wessington (Wolsey, SD), 52-38, in a league test.

The Chargers now own a 3-20 record. They play next when they host Canby for a A Section 3 test on Saturday, February 10. Westbrook-Walnut Grove will encounter a Lancers squad coming off a 72-41 league win over Yellow Medicine East (Granite Falls, MN). The Lancers record now stands at 12-9.
