James River Midlothian Rapids (Midlothian, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Powhatan Indians (Powhatan, VA), 84-65 in a league bout.

With the victory, James River Midlothian upgrades its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Rapids host L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA) to play the Skyhawks in a Dominion bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Skyhawks come into the bout with a record of 19-1. L.C. Bird won 77-49 in their recent league bout against Huguenot (Richmond, VA)

Next up, the Indians play the Midlothian Trojans (Midlothian, VA) in a Dominion bout, on Wednesday, February 14. Powhatan will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 80-70 league loss to Monacan (Richmond, VA).
