Luverne Cardinals (Luverne, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting St. James Saints (St. James, MN), 80-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Luverne upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Adrian/Ellsworth (Adrian, MN) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Monday, February 12. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 3-16. Adrian/Ellsworth lost 77-74 in their recent league bout against Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda (Okabena, MN)

Next up, the Saints play the Waseca Bluejays (Waseca, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. St. James will attempt to upgrade on its 3-19 season record. The Bluejays go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 100-70 non-league loss to New Ulm (New Ulm, MN).
