The St. John's Mavericks basketball squad scored 79 points and restricted the visiting St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans to 39 in the Mavericks non-league victory on Thursday.

With the victory, St. John's upgrades its record to 25-6 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Episcopal (Bellaire, TX) to play the Knights in a Southwest Prep - South bout on Friday, February 9. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 25-8. Episcopal won 74-48 in their recent non-league bout against Episcopal School of Dallas (Dallas, TX)
