Nevis Tigers (Nevis, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Blackduck Drakes (Blackduck, MN), 54-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Nevis upgrades its record to 14-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Mahnomen/Waubun (Mahnomen, MN) to play the Thunderbirds in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a record of 7-16. Mahnomen/Waubun lost 66-30 in their recent non-league bout against Park Christian (Moorhead, MN)

Next up, the Drakes play the Deer River Warriors (Deer River, MN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Blackduck will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-13 record after their 79-29 non-league loss to Mesabi East (Aurora, MN).
