The West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) basketball felled the host Cedar Grove Panthers (Cedar Grove, NJ), 43-29 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Knights (13-10) will now prepare for their test against Park Ridge (Park Ridge, NJ). The Owls go into the non-league test with a 15-5 record. In their last test, Park Ridge was beaten by Secaucus (Secaucus, NJ), 59-29, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 7-14 record. They play next when they travel to Montclair for a non-league test on Saturday, February 10. Cedar Grove will encounter a Mounties squad coming off a 40-34 non-league win over Millburn (Millburn, NJ). The Mounties record now stands at 11-8.
