Martin County West Mavericks (Sherburn, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Cleveland Clippers (Cleveland, MN), 68-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Martin County West upgrades its record to 17-4 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman (Granada, MN) to play the Jaguars in a A Section 2 bout on Saturday, February 10. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 17-4. Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman won 65-26 in their recent league bout against Loyola (Mankato, MN)

Next up, the Clippers play the United South Central Rebels (Wells, MN) in a A Section 2 bout, on Monday, February 12. Cleveland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-18 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 8-16 record after their 58-39 non-league win over Wabasha-Kellogg (Wabasha, MN).
