The Houghton Gremlins tipped the visiting Hancock Bulldogs basketball team by a final score of 43-40 in Thursday's league game.

In their next game, the Gremlins face the Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI) in a Western Peninsula game, on Monday, February 12. Houghton will attempt to move on its 12-5 season record. The Copper Kings come into the battle with a 9-8 record after their 50-49 non-league loss to Escanaba (Escanaba, MI).

The Bulldogs (7-8) will now prepare for their battle against Westwood (Ishpeming, MI). The Patriots come into the non-league battle with a 8-8 record. In their last battle, Westwood edged Manistique (Manistique, MI), 56-38, in a non-league battle.
