Henning Hornets (Henning, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host New York Mills Eagles (New York Mills, MN), 70-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Henning upgrades its record to 9-11 on the season. The Hornets travel to Verndale (Verndale, MN) to clash with the Pirates in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 16-6. Verndale won 66-48 in their recent league bout against Bertha-Hewitt (Bertha, MN)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal Titans (Twin Valley, MN) in a A Section 6 bout, on Friday, February 9. New York Mills will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 6-15 record after their 68-41 league loss to Lake Park-Audubon (Lake Park, MN).
