The Smithville Smithies basketball team scored 57 points and held the host Hillsdale Falcons to 9 in the Smithies league triumph on Thursday.

The Smithies now sport a 13-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Orrville for a non-league contest on Monday, February 12. Smithville will battle a Red Riders team coming off a 37-27 league loss to Northwest (Canal Fulton, OH). The Red Riders record now stands at 5-13.

The Falcons (4-16) will now prepare for their contest against South Central (Greenwich, OH). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 15-5 record. In their last contest, South Central was routed by New London (New London, OH), 46-33, in a league contest.
