The Monsignor Donovan Catholic Rams basketball team (Athens, GA), was nudged 1-0 in Thursday's league battle with the host John Hancock Academy Rebels (Sparta, GA)

The Rebels now possess a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host David Emanuel Academy for a GIAA A Region 4 battle on Friday, February 9. John Hancock Academy will confront a Eagles team coming off a 43-32 non-league loss to Glascock County (Gibson, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-11.

The Rams (0-11) will now prepare for their battle against Thomas Jefferson Academy (Louisville, GA). The Jaguars come into the GIAA A Region 4 battle with a 11-10 record. In their last battle, Thomas Jefferson Academy edged Augusta Prep Day (Augusta, GA), 40-34, in a non-league battle.
