The Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR) basketball nipped the visiting Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR), 40-35 in Thursday's league test.

The Pirates (10-10) will now prepare for their test against Westside Christian (Lake Oswego, OR). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 15-3 record. In their last test, Westside Christian got by Horizon Christian (Tualatin, OR), 59-48, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Marshfield for a 4A Sky Em test on Friday, February 9. Marist will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 40-35 league win over Marist (Eugene, OR). The Pirates record now stands at 10-10.
