The Poquoson Islanders basketball team scored 53 points and held the host New Kent Trojans to 31 in the Islanders league triumph on Thursday.

The Islanders now sport a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tabb for a Bay Rivers contest on Tuesday, February 13. Poquoson will battle a Tigers team coming off a 46-27 league loss to Warhill (Williamsburg, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 9-12.

The Trojans (7-14) will now prepare for their contest against Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA). The Rams enter the Bay Rivers contest with a 13-8 record. In their last contest, Lafayette triumphed over Bruton (Williamsburg, VA), 61-39, in a league contest.
