Sandhills Classical Christian Lions (Southern Pines, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 33-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sandhills Classical Christian upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign.

Next up, the Patriots play the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a bout, on Friday, February 9. Pinecrest will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Fighting Scots come into the bout with a 0-6 record after their 43-33 non-league loss to Union Pines (Cameron, NC).
