In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Corona/Vaughn Cardinals basketball team scored a big 47-19 triumph over the Coronado Leopards.

The Cardinals (16-3) will now prepare for their contest against Mountainair (Mountainair, NM). The Mustangs go into the A District 3 contest with a 5-17 record. In their last contest, Mountainair smashed Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM), 62-8, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Leopards confront the To'hajiilee Warriors (To'hajiilee, NM) in a A District 1 contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Coronado will attempt to better on its 5-14 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 9-10 record after their 67-26 league win over Northwest (Shiprock, NM).
