Fans at Saturday's league battle between the Winn Mavericks (Eagle Pass, TX) and the visiting Southside Cardinals (San Antonio, TX), saw Winn's soccer squad hold off Southside by a count of 2-1.

The Mavericks (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX). The Bobcats enter the 5A Region 4 District 28 battle with a 4-12 record. In their last battle, South San Antonio was edged by Harlandale (San Antonio, TX), 10-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Cardinals battle the Southwest Legacy Titans (Von Ormy, TX) in a 5A Region 4 District 28 battle, on Tuesday, February 11. Southside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Titans enter the battle with a 8-6 record after their 1-0 league win over Jay (San Antonio, TX).
