St. Mary Cathedral Snowbirds (Gaylord, MI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Onaway Cardinals (Onaway, MI), 57-49 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Mary Cathedral upgrades its record to 14-2 on the season. The Snowbirds host Oscoda (Oscoda, MI) to clash with the Owls in a North Star bout on Friday, February 11. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 10-5. Oscoda won 48-34 in their recent non-league bout against Johannesburg-Lewiston (Johannesburg, MI)

Next up, the Cardinals clash with the Inland Lakes Bulldogs (Indian River, MI) in a Ski-Valley bout, on Friday, February 11. Onaway will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 67-37 league win over Mancelona (Mancelona, MI).
