Michigan High School Basketball - Avondale can't hold off Harper Woods

The Harper Woods Pioneers basketball team scored 58 points and held the host Avondale Yellowjackets to 53 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Pioneers now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mattawan for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 11. Harper Woods will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 50-47 league loss to St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 13-3.

The Yellowjackets (7-10) will now prepare for their contest against University (Ferndale, MI). The Eagles enter the Oakland - Gold contest with a 6-10 record. In their last contest, University nudged Lutheran (Westland, MI), 79-56, in a non-league contest.
