Kentucky High School Basketball - Cooper tipped by Newport

February 9, 2023: Newport, KY 41071

The Newport Wildcats basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Cooper Jaguars to 42 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Wildcats now sport a 20-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dayton for a District 36 contest on Monday, February 13. Newport will meet a Greendevils team coming off a 53-38 non-league win over Villa Madonna (Covington, KY). The Greendevils record now stands at 6-13.

The Jaguars (12-11) will now prepare for their contest against Scott County (Georgetown, KY). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 6-15 record. In their last contest, Scott County nudged Bryan Station (Lexington, KY), 78-74, in a league contest.
