The Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) basketball nipped the host Linsly Cadets (Wheeling, WV), 69-67 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Maroon Knights (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Shenandoah (Sarahsville, OH). The Zeps go into the Ohio Valley AA test with a 10-11 record. In their last test, Shenandoah got by Fort Frye (Beverly, OH), 56-43, in a non-league test.
The Cadets now own a 13-7 record. They play next when they travel to Martins Ferry for a non-league test on Saturday, February 11. Linsly will encounter a Purple Riders squad coming off a 64-54 non-league win over Bellaire (Bellaire, OH). The Purple Riders record now stands at 17-1.
