Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM), 31-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Capitan upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Tigers travel to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to play the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Chiefs go into the bout with a record of 18-7. Mescalero Apache won 53-31 in their recent league bout against Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM) in a 2A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Tularosa will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 60-33 league win over Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM).
