The Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks basketball team scored 39 points and restricted the visiting Washingtonville Wizards to 31 in the Goldbacks non-league victory on Thursday.

The Goldbacks now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley Central for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 11. Newburgh Free Academy will battle a Vikings team coming off a 35-34 non-league win over Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 6-7.

The Wizards (2-12) will now prepare for their contest against Middletown (Middletown, NY). The Middie Bears come into the non-league contest with a 8-4 record.
