The Aquilla Cougars basketball team scored 85 points and held the visiting Cranfills Gap Lions to 50 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 13-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mount Calm for a 1A Region IV District 25 contest on Tuesday, February 13. Aquilla will battle a team coming off a 52-32 league loss to Gholson (Waco, TX). The record now stands at 6-17.

The Lions (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Jonesboro (Jonesboro, TX). The Eagles enter the 1A Region IV District 25 contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, Jonesboro was routed by Oglesby (Oglesby, TX), 59-48, in a league contest.
