In Friday's league outing, the Jena Giants (Jena, LA) basketball squad felled the visiting Buckeye Panthers (Buckeye, LA), by a margin of 50-41.

The Giants (11-9) will now prepare for their outing against Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA). The Spartans go into the 3A District 2 outing with a 11-11 record. In their last outing, Caldwell Parish was beaten by Bolton (Alexandria, LA), 42-35, in a league outing.

The Panthers now own a 26-3 record. They play next when they travel to Georgetown for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 13. Buckeye will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 76-73 non-league loss to Ouachita Christian (Monroe, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 25-12.
