Burton Panthers (Burton, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Iola Bulldogs (Iola, TX), 48-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Burton upgrades its record to 10-19 on the season. The Panthers travel to Snook (Snook, TX) to clash with the Bluejays in a 2A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Bluejays go into the bout with a record of 10-19. Snook lost 75-36 in their recent league bout against Somerville (Somerville, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Normangee Panthers (Normangee, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Iola will attempt to upgrade on its 1-19 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 19-13 record after their 64-46 league loss to Mumford (Mumford, TX).
