Calvert Trojans (Calvert, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting McDade Bulldogs (McDade, TX), 101-67 in a league bout.

With the win, Calvert upgrades its record to 16-8 on the season. The Trojans host Round Top-Carmine (Carmine, TX) to play the Cubs in a 1A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Cubs go into the bout with a record of 3-20. Round Top-Carmine won 71-49 in their recent league bout against Buckholts (Buckholts, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Richards Panthers (Richards, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. McDade will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 60-38 league win over Dime Box (Dime Box, TX).
