Celeste Blue Devils (Celeste, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Whitewright Tigers (Whitewright, TX), 38-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Celeste upgrades its record to 13-15 on the season. The Blue Devils host Wolfe City (Wolfe City, TX) to play the Wolves in a 2A Region II District 14 bout on Monday, February 12. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 9-22. Wolfe City won 71-25 in their recent league bout against Trenton (Trenton, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Sam Rayburn Rebels (Ivanhoe, TX) in a 2A Region II District 14 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Whitewright will attempt to upgrade on its 9-18 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 22-10 record after their 70-34 league win over Bland (Merit, TX).
