Centralia Panthers (Centralia, MO) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Monroe City Panthers (Monroe City, MO), 49-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Centralia upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Panthers host Palmyra (Palmyra, MO) to play the Panthers in a Clarence Cannon bout on Saturday, February 10. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 20-1. Palmyra won 61-51 in their recent non-league bout against Bowling Green (Bowling Green, MO)

Next up, the Panthers play the Brookfield Bulldogs (Brookfield, MO) in a Clarence Cannon bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Monroe City will attempt to upgrade on its 14-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 8-14 record after their 57-54 non-league win over Fayette (Fayette, MO).
