The Essex Hornets basketball team (Essex Junction, VT), was toppled 65-52 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Colchester Lakers (Colchester, VT)
The Lakers now possess a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rice Memorial for a Metro battle on Tuesday, February 13. Colchester will confront a Green Knights team coming off a 94-58 non-league win over Bellows Free Academy (St. Albans, VT). The Green Knights record now stands at 17-1.
The Hornets (4-15) will now prepare for their battle against St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT). The Hilltoppers come into the Metro battle with a 14-4 record. In their last battle, St. Johnsbury Academy was toppled by South Burlington (South Burlington, VT), 65-60, in a league battle.
