Hopkins Royals (Minnetonka, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Edina Hornets (Edina, MN), 69-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Hopkins upgrades its record to 15-4 on the season. The Royals travel to Southwest Christian (Chaska, MN) to clash with the Stars in a non-league bout on Monday, February 12. The Stars go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Southwest Christian lost 65-60 in their recent non-league bout against Delano (Delano, MN)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the Wayzata Trojans (Plymouth, MN) in a AAAA Section 6 bout, on Monday, February 12. Edina will attempt to upgrade on its 13-8 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 85-80 non-league win over Eden Prairie (Eden Prairie, MN).
