The Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), 44-39 in Friday's league test.
The Mules (18-10) will now prepare for their test against Chester (Chester, IL). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league test with a 11-15 record. In their last test, Chester was tipped by Sparta (Sparta, IL), 54-51, in a league test.
The Lions now own a 10-15 record. They play next when they travel to Eldorado for a Black Diamond - East test on Tuesday, February 13. Edwards County will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 65-38 league loss to Flora (Flora, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 7-21.
