Ohio High School Basketball - Elyria can't hold off Steele

February 9, 2024: Amherst, OH 44001

The Steele Comets basketball team scored 73 points and restricted the visiting Elyria Pioneers to 71 in the Comets league victory on Friday.

The Comets now sport a 7-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Firelands for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 10. Steele will battle a Falcons team coming off a 52-37 league win over Black River (Sullivan, OH). The Falcons record now stands at 12-7.

The Pioneers (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Lakewood (Lakewood, OH). The Rangers come into the non-league contest with a 15-5 record. In their last contest, Lakewood edged North (Eastlake, OH), 82-59, in a non-league contest.
