Espanola Valley Sundevils (Espanola, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM), 58-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Espanola Valley upgrades its record to 10-13 on the campaign. The Sundevils host Moriarty (Moriarty, NM) to play the Pintos in a 4A District 2 bout on Thursday, February 15. The Pintos come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Moriarty lost 58-47 in their recent league bout against Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM)

Next up, the Elks/Elkettes play the Taos Tigers (Taos, NM) in a 4A District 2 bout, on Thursday, February 15. Pojoaque Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 10-12 record after their 55-49 league win over Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM).
