The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball felled the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 68-51 in Friday's league test.
The Pioneers (17-5) will now prepare for their test against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the 3A/4A Northwestern test with a 11-10 record. In their last test, Freedom thwarted Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 70-55, in a league test.
The Panthers now own a 1-20 record. They play next when they host Alexander Central for a 3A/4A Northwestern test on Tuesday, February 13. Hibriten will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 52-49 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 8-14.
