In Friday's league outing, the Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) basketball squad beat the host Jeanerette Tigers (Jeanerette, LA), by a count of 54-45.

The Bears (10-17) will now prepare for their outing against Centerville (Centerville, LA). The Bulldogs go into the 1A District 7 outing with a 7-19 record. In their last outing, Centerville was topped by Vermilion Catholic (Abbeville, LA), 49-39, in a league outing.

The Tigers now hold a 8-15 record. They play next when they travel to Covenant Christian Academy for a 1A District 7 outing on Monday, February 12. Jeanerette will clash with a Lions squad coming off a 44-41 non-league loss to Central Private (Baker, LA). The Lions record now stands at 20-8.
