The Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI) basketball nipped the host Mt. Hope Huskies (Bristol, RI), 46-43 in Friday's non-league test.
The Panthers (15-5) will now prepare for their test against Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI). The Chargers go into the Division 2 test with a 4-14 record. In their last test, Chariho was tipped by Tolman (Pawtucket, RI), 90-53, in a league test.
The Huskies now own a 4-16 record. They play next when they host Lincoln for a Division 2 test on Friday, February 9. Mt. Hope will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 74-45 league win over Coventry (Coventry, RI). The Lions record now stands at 19-0.
