Illinois High School Basketball - Monticello tops St. Thomas More

February 9, 2024: Monticello, IL 61856

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) and the visiting St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL), saw Monticello's basketball squad knock off St. Thomas More by a tally of 50-42.

With the victory, Monticello improves its record to 13-12 on the campaign. The Sages host St. Teresa (Decatur, IL) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 10. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-19. St. Teresa lost 78-55 in their recent non-league challenge against Tuscola (Tuscola, IL)

Next up, the Sabers play the Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL) in a Illini Prairie challenge, on Tuesday, February 13. St. Thomas More will attempt to improve on its 19-9 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 18-10 record after their 64-50 league win over Rantoul (Rantoul, IL).
