The Piney Woods Tornadoes (Piney Woods, MS) basketball felled the visiting Mount Olive Pirates (Mount Olive, MS), 43-31 in Friday's league test.
The Tornadoes (12-6) will now prepare for their test against West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS). The Choctaws go into the non-league test with a 16-9 record. In their last test, West Tallahatchie was beaten by South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS), 61-59, in a non-league test.
The Pirates now own a 10-11 record. They play next when they travel to South Delta for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 13. Mount Olive will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 61-59 non-league win over West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 19-5.
