The Newton Local Indians basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting National Trail Blazers to 39 in the Indians league triumph on Friday.
The Indians now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Recovery for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 10. Newton Local will battle a Indians team coming off a 66-53 league loss to Minster (Minster, OH). The Indians record now stands at 5-13.
The Blazers (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Franklin Monroe (Pitsburg, OH). The Jets enter the Western Ohio contest with a 15-5 record. In their last contest, Franklin Monroe ran past Emmanuel Christian Academy (Springfield, OH), 56-34, in a non-league contest.
