The Tarkington Longhorns basketball team scored 67 points and restricted the visiting New Waverly Bulldogs to 58 in the Longhorns league victory on Friday.

The Longhorns now sport a 23-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Anderson-Shiro for a 3A Region III District 23 contest on Tuesday, February 13. Tarkington will battle a Fighting Owls team coming off a 73-67 league loss to Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 9-19.

The Bulldogs (11-21) will now prepare for their contest against Crockett (Crockett, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region III District 23 contest with a 27-6 record. In their last contest, Crockett prevailed over Trinity (Trinity, TX), 52-44, in a league contest.
