Princeton Tigers (Princeton, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL), 66-65 in a league bout.

With the victory, Princeton upgrades its record to 13-12 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Winnebago (Winnebago, IL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 10. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 9-18. Winnebago lost 69-58 in their recent league bout against Lutheran (Rockford, IL)

Next up, the Comets play the Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL) in a Three Rivers - East bout, on Monday, February 12. Newman Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 19-10 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 12-16 record after their 82-72 non-league win over Oregon (Oregon, IL).
