Pollok Central Bulldogs (Pollok, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Newton Eagles (Newton, TX), 56-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pollok Central upgrades its record to 24-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Central Heights (Nacogdoches, TX) to play the Blue Devils in a 3A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 14-17. Central Heights won 60-46 in their recent league bout against Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Huntington Red Devils (Huntington, TX) in a 3A Region III District 21 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Red Devils come into the bout with a 10-23 record after their 65-56 league loss to Woodville (Woodville, TX).
